Equality Duties

CWDC became an Executive Non Departmental Public Body (ENDPB) on the 1st April 2008. As a public sector organisation, CWDC now has additional legal duties relating to race, gender and disability. Our obligations within each area focus on:

  • promoting equality of opportunity
  • promoting good relations
  • promoting positive attitudes
  • eliminating harassment, and eliminating unlawful discrimination.

These obligations are set out in the Race Equality Duty (2001), the Disability Equality Duty (2005) and the Gender Equality Duty (2007).
