Have you ever heard of Children In Need? Of course you have, it's that great and huge event that occurs via the BBC where tons of actors and actresses and well known people get together to ask you for charitable donations. But what happens when the show is over and the publicity stops after two weeks of being in your face?
Children in need is not just a two week operation hosted by the BBC to raise hundreds of millions of pounds for individual charities and for people across the world. No, it's a 365 and a quarter day situation which affects hundreds of thousands of children, bordering on millions. Children are in need every day of the week, every hour of the day for a variety of reasons. Hence why whilst many know that Children In Need is a large charity event and yes most know the reasons behind it, many fail to recall those children days later.
Charities Helping Children in Need
There are a great many charities in the UK looking to end child poverty, put a halt to child abuse and violence and get children into safer care. There are even more tackling home help children situations and those failing in education due to external problems, like working to support their parents or worrying about life far more than they should have to.
Outside of the frenzy which is the BBC's Children In Need extravaganza, which in all honesty does the world of good. There are a variety of other ways you can help play a part in giving to children in need. Child sponsorship is one such way. When you sponsor a child you are giving an unknown child which is in danger, a life saving gift of hope. Through a child sponsorship donation, monthly or yearly, you are giving an amount of money to sponsor an exact child's lifeline with humanity.
In return that child or his or her child project worker, will update you on their life and how you have helped. Now if that isn't a red nose and red cheek, warm glow moment, I don't know what is! Children in need are in need every day and you don't just have to aim for a red nose but for red cheeks also! So give Pudsey bear an hug but consider sponsoring a child too for that warm feeling all year round.
