Take part in the common core consultation

Because the work done by the children and young people's workforce is so important, the government created the common core of skills and knowledge - guidelines ensuring everyone has the basic skills they need to do their job.

Want to know more about the common core?

The common core consultation

The common core is working well, but we want to make it even better. A refreshed version will be published in March 2010 and you can help shape it by taking part in the common core consultation. There is a 10-15 minute questionnaire where you share your views on how we can help you improve the lives of children and young people.

Get involved - get your voice heard now!

  • If you manage or lead a team in the children and young people's workforce, simply click through to the online questionnaire.
  • If you work with children and young people or are a parent or carer you can:
    • Join one of our focus groups - email the group organiser to get involved.
    • You can also forward a link to this webpage onto someone you think might be interested.
