Leadership development in the children and young people's workforce
Independent report identifies ways forward for leadership development in the children's workforce
An independent report, commissioned by CWDC, has made recommendations on how to improve leadership and management development for middle managers across the children's workforce.
CWDC commissioned the Hay Group to provide research, analysis and recommendations for the support and development of middle leaders and managers. The study looked at the supply and take-up of support, training and continuing professional development. It also looked at the opportunities available for middle managers to work jointly with colleagues in other departments to plan and deliver services for children, young people and families.
The findings, published in "The training and development of middle managers in the children's workforce", will contribute to the advice CWDC is currently developing for the Department for Children, Schools & Families (DCSF) on the content of a Leadership and Management Strategy.
