The National Minimum Data Set - Social Care (NMDS-SC)

CWDC is aware of the importance of collecting workforce data in order to enhance our understanding of the issues facing employers. Together with our partners in the Children's Workforce Network (CWN) we are currently identifying the most effective mechanism for collecting intelligence on the children's workforce. It has already been agreed that there has been considerable investment in the development of data collection systems by a variety of employers and that these should not be disrupted.

CWDC therefore supports the use of NMDS-(SC). It is aimed primarily at social care employers but it may also be suitable for some aspects of the wider children's workforce. It is applicable to large statutory employers such as Local Authorities and small private and voluntary sector providers. It can provide detailed information to individual employers and aggregated (anonymous) data for regional and national use.

NMDS-(SC) is administered by Skills for Care and further detailed information can be found on their website www.nmds-sc.org.uk
