The One Children's Workforce Framework
A vision that describes what a reformed, integrated children's workforce would look like.
One Children's Workforce Framework
The One Children's Workforce Framework is a simple vision of what an integrated workforce looks like. It will help everyone work better together to get the best result for children and young people.
Each colour on the rainbow represents a different theme - they are all about things we could do or ways we could work that would improve children and young people's lives.
Individuals and managers can use the framework to think about personal and team development. Children's Trusts can use it to help them develop their workforce. It can help us all to understand and make the most of our roles within an integrated workforce.
The colours
- Shared identity, purpose and vision
- Common values and language
- Behaviours focused on positive outcomes for children and young people
- Integrated working practices
- High quality, appropriately trained workforce
- Complementary roles focused around children and young people
- Capacity to deliver and keep children and young people safe
Children's Trust tool
The tool allows Children's Trusts to assess themselves against the One Children's Workforce Framework. It takes them through a series of steps to work out where they are currently positioned on a spectrum from 'fragmented' to 'integrated and high quality'. These steps include gathering the views of a wide range of people from the children and young people's workforce and planning what to do next to develop an integrated and high quality workforce and improve outcomes for children and young people.
If you are not from a Children's Trust you can walk through the online tool for trusts and see how it works.
