Partnership working
We are working with the National College and the TDA to build a workforce that can transform the lives of children and young people.
CWDC, the National College and the TDA: working together to deliver the children and young people's workforce
The Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC), the National College for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services (National College) and the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) share a commitment to building a workforce that can transform the lives of children and young people.
We do this through workforce development for specific sectors and the development of skills and expertise across all sectors.
We share a commitment to seeing integrated working practices as being at the heart of a reformed workforce.
We collaborate nationally and regionally to ensure a more effective use of resources to meet the specific needs of organisations delivering services in local areas.
CWDC leads change so thousands of professionals and volunteers across England do the best job they possibly can. We want England's workforce to be respected by peers and valued for the positive difference made to children, young people and their families. We improve outcomes of children and young people by leading and investing in workforce reform, skills and training. Our focus for 2009/10 is on social work, early years, young people's workforce, social care and integration of leadership and management of children's services in local authorities.
The National College works to develop and inspire great leaders of schools, early years and children's centre, so that they can make a positive difference to children's lives.
The TDA is committed to promoting the well-being and educational achievement of all children in everything that we do. We work with schools to develop the skills of the whole school workforce. We create standards and development opportunities for all staff, to ensure that schools can recruit good quality, well-trained people who will continue to develop and improve their skills to support children's learning. We work to ensure that the supply and quality of teacher training meets demand, and promote teaching as a career. We support the modernisation of the school workforce to help schools access the resources they need to remodel their workforce, deploy staff effectively and introduce extended services.
