Participation across the children's workforce
CWDC's Participation Fund is designed to encourage and enhance the participation of children, young people and their families in local workforce development and reform.
A booklet which provides contact details and gives more information about the regional projects that took place in 2007-08 is available to download below.
Participation Fund 2007-08 Booklet
Some of the materials are available to download on the Participation Fund 07-08 pages
Examples of these projects include the following:
- Developing a toolkit and training programme with children and young people to train the workforce in how to effectively increase the participation of young people in their work.
- Researching how children and young people are currently involved in the induction process of new workers, focussing on those children and young people who are seldom heard.
- Working with young people to create a DVD which highlights the benefits of involving children and young people in the recruitment and induction of children's workforce, and also highlight good participation practice.
- Developing a toolkit of workforce related resources on ‘How to Involve Children and Young People' which can be used across the region. This will include a booklet of best practice and a pack of workforce related materials. This will be followed by the delivery of nine training days.
