Practitioner-led research (PLR)
Our PLR programme provides funding to practitioners within CWDC's footprint to carry out their own small-scale research projects, helping us learn more about the experience of workers and children and young people using the services.
The practitioner-led research programme ran successfully for four years and we now have over 190 excellent and valuable examples of the difference practitioners have made to local practice. Taking part in the PLR programme was an opportunity for practitioners to explore, describe, evaluate and report on ways in which services were being delivered within the children's workforce. Each practitioner designed their own research and set their own question to explore, with no previous experience of research required!
The reports produced were shared throughout CWDC and the wider workforce and used to improve ways of working, recognise success and provide examples of good practice.
