Children's social care
Children's social care helps some of the most vulnerable children and their families, providing vital support and keeping them safe and protected from harm. This might mean offering practical or emotional support to overcome difficult situations or finding somewhere else for a child or young person to live if necessary.
Social care workers support the social work role and are employed in a wide range of occupational areas. They provide a direct caring role to children and in some cases specific family support services. Social care includes also includes residential child care workers and foster carers.
We work with employers to raise standards and increase skills in children's social care. We want to enable the workforce to achieve better, fairer results for cared-for children and families.
