Careers in Social Care & Social Work
There are excellent career opportunities in children’s social care and social work. Those joining the workforce will have the opportunity to develop their careers within the wider social care or children’s workforces.
- Children’s Social Care includes a wide variety of direct care and support roles with children and young people.
- Children’s Social Workers require a degree in social work or a recognised previously available qualification or international equivalent.
Further information on both social work and social care careers are available by clicking on the links.
A new framework of continuing professional development has been developed by CWDC and Skills for Care and be accessed through the following link: http://www.topssengland.net/view.asp?id=818
Work has also been undertaken on career pathways that provides examples of different types of career progression. This includes examples of people's careers in a range of social care and children's services settings as well as useful background information.
