Advanced social work professional

Developing roles that encourage and enable experienced social work practitioners to remain on the front line.

We have been working with 45 local authority employers, CAFCASS and voluntary sector colleagues to create new opportunities to help employers to keep the best social workers in front line practice.

We have worked together to determine what makes a consistently excellent social worker, and how employers could make the best use of them.

ASWP status

Following the publication of the Social Work Task Force report we are now working with partners feeding into the development of the implementation plan and ensuring that all our projects are consistent with the overall programme of reform for the social work profession.

How to get involved

We will be contacting employers in the near future with further information about how to get involved in this exciting new initiative.
