Graduate recruitment scheme

The graduate recruitment scheme for social work

There will not be a further intake to the Graduate Recruitment Scheme. The second and final cohort of 200+ candidates will continue to be supported and will complete their studies in 2011.

Frequently asked questions

Q1. I am currently completing my first year under the Graduate Recruitment Scheme. Will I still be funded for my second year?

A1. Yes. Payments will be made as planned.

Q2. How else can I be funded, whilst studying to become a qualified social worker?

A2. There are many ways to train as a social worker. For example many local authorities run a "grow your own" scheme for experienced candidates. To find out more about these schemes you should contact local authorities directly. Higher education courses also attract a bursary for both undergraduate and postgraduate candidates.
