Families Going Forward

Training for practitioners engaged in outreach from Sure Start children's centres.

What is the training?

  • The training has been developed specifically for outreach and meets the development needs of Sure Start children's centre outreach practitioners.
  • The training is based on unit 300 of the Work with Parents qualification. Practitioners could undertake further units (not funded) and gain a full Level 3 qualification.
  • The training is available to all practitioners engaged in Sure Start children's centre outreach including volunteers.
  • The training will be available until March 2011.

Who is suitable for this course?

In line with the eligibility criteria, this course is particularly relevant for practitioners who:

  • Don't have a Level 3 or above qualification in Work with Parents
  • Have not covered the course content in other training courses (though if they have not gained a relevant Level 3 qualification they may still want to gain this Level 3 unit of a qualification).
